Eric J. Altorfer

Chief Executive Officer - CEO

Eric J. Altorfer, a commanding officer with the San Francisco Police Department, brings over 24 years of exemplary law enforcement experience to his role as Chief Executive Officer of STAC Protection & Security Services. With a focus on investigations, Eric has spent nine years in investigative roles and two years leading an investigative unit, overseeing complex cases involving violent crimes, financial crimes, and high-profile internal affairs matters such as officer-involved shootings, in-custody deaths, and workplace misconduct. As a platoon commander, he demonstrated exceptional leadership in high-pressure situations, directing field operations, managing critical incidents, and coordinating resources across multiple agencies to ensure both operational success and public safety.

Eric's professional foundation is built on a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California Coast University, where he graduated summa cum laude, alongside over 500 hours of specialized investigative training. He is a recipient of the prestigious Robert Presley ICI Certificate and a graduate of the Sherman Block Leadership Institute, with advanced management training through California POST's Command College, where he is currently attending. Eric’s dedication to excellence has been recognized with two mayoral commendations and a commendation from the San Francisco Board of Supervisors for exemplary service. His expertise spans Field Operations, Internal Affairs, Force Encounters Analysis, Cognitive Interviewing, and De-escalation Strategies, among other areas. Edwin Gaffud

Chief Operations Officer - COO

With 28 years of law enforcement and security experience, Edwin Gaffud is the Chief Operations Officer at STAC Protection & Security Services. A military veteran, he served as a military police officer in both the United States Air Force and Army. His extensive background includes roles with the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) as a Patrol Officer, Plainclothes Officer, Background Investigator, and 10B Overtime Coordinator. After retiring from the SFPD, Edwin transitioned to working as an Off-Duty Officer (ODO) for major tech companies, leveraging his expertise in security and operations.

At STAC, Edwin oversees security services, focusing on operations, client satisfaction, and vendor partnerships. He ensures effective personnel deployment, risk assessment, and emergency planning, providing proactive and responsive security solutions. His leadership and collaboration with local law enforcement ensure tailored, reliable security services across San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. Edwin has also served as an Off-Duty Services Manager for a major security company, as well as a Security Program Manager and First Responder Ambassador for autonomous vehicle companies.
